Agent Thunderbolt*
Alter Ego: Ernie Tweeny
Agent Thunderbolt is the secret Superhero identity of Ernie Tweeny. He acquired the powers of superspeeed and enhanced sensory skills (hearing/smell/sight) through a transfusion of faerie blood, rendering him as a Changeling. Now, the more he uses the power, the more his body morphs from human to faerie. Agent Thunderbolt's costume consists of a blue t-shirt with a lightning bolt across the chest, gaiters, an antique WW1 helmet and aviator goggles, tennis shoes with soles reinforced by tire tread, a utility belt with his compass (Navitrometer) on it, and gloves that cover his wrist and part of his forearms.

Changeling
Though traditionally thought to be a faerie creature left in place of a stolen human child, Changelings can also be manufactured through scientific means. The introduction of faerie DNA into a human host causes a precarious reaction. The faerie essence will slowly replicate until all of the host's humanity has eventually eroded, leaving a creature that is fully faerie. Though at first the human host may relish newfound "powers" he or she has gained through the infusion of the faerie essence (such as super speed, flight, the ability to breath underwater, etc.), using those powers will escalate the transformation from human to faerie.

Crypt, Lord Saxon?s
Set within the volcanic mountains of Western Iceland, the crypt is entered through secret locked door at an elevation of over 12,000 feet on a nearly impassible goat path usually covered in ice and snow. Once inside the tunnel, it will seem like a mine shaft leading sharply down at a 45 degree angle until it reaches the burial crypt. Smooth, well dressed stone with runic inscriptions of a Norse flavor. Central to the chamber is the sarcophagus which is also rectangular and unadorned aside from the lid, which has a runic warning and enchantment spell carved on its surface.

Drake
Ranging in size from a small cat to a very large dog, drakes look like itsy-bitsy dragons, complete razor teeth, sharp claws, bat?s wings, and an extremely unpredictable attitude. Some can breathe fire, others can?t, but it?s certainly better to avoid drakes whenever possible. They tend to eat first (particularly small pets) and ask questions later.
First Appearance with Description: Book 1, p. 40
Dragon
The dragon is indisputably one the most terrifying monsters on earth. While most are capable of flight, all of them are armor plated with rows of sharp teeth, long claws, piercing eyes and alarming intelligence. They can range dramatically in size (from arm length to the size of a battleship). As far as the faerie food chain goes, dragons are on top. Only griffins are the dragon?s natural enemies. But to take down a large serpent, the griffins must hunt in packs.
Species Include (but are not limited to):
- Frost: armed with vicious claws and teeth, but has no winges
- Ice: a more compact build than most dragons, they have long claws and typically freeze their prey with icy breath before eating them during the long winter months. They have wings, but less likely to use them than their cousins. They most often inhabit the arctic seas and low-lying glaciers. They are swimmers.
Visual Reference: The picture of this iceberg that is somewhat of an inspiration; see what you think.
- Sand: coloration varies in shades of brown and tan
- Storm: coloration is dark blue to indigo. They are enormous, and streamlined for aerodynamics in flight. Storm Dragons hunt the skies at night amidst the thunderclouds. They usually hunt trolls and cows, but are just as likely to tackle a smaller dragon or passing commuter plane. They are incredibly agile and fast in the air. Myths about them creating the storm itself are unfounded.

In the book, it is assumed that the Black Wolves secreted away the discs, matured the technology, and use these as their primary fighters/bombers when/if required. These are also the source of many UFO-sightings.

Pools of Eternity
Description: These are portals affixed to the ground that can appear in certainly mystical landscapes. They aren?t random, yet they are not altogether stationary and predictable. Unlike classical portals, one can gaze into a Pool and see what lies on the other side. In Revenge of the Shadow King, these pools led to a deep depth of water far under the ocean. Jumping in would have the same effect as that of walking through a classical portal.
First Appearance with Description: Book 1, p. 122
Portals
Portals are magical doorways that permit instantaneous transportation from one place to another, usually in a very unpredictable and sometimes dangerous fashion.
Description: Magical doorways leading from point A to point B, portals can transport almost anyone or anything across limitless distances and dimensions in an instant. Portals can be affixed to a permanent location, completely random, or can be summoned by those with the power to do so. They are often invisible to the naked eye. Unlike the Pools of Eternity, most portals are opaque and appear as a rift of light, hanging suspended in the air.

Templar Library
Description: Deep within a hollow out, undersea dormant volcano lays the treasure of the templar legacy: the Templar Library. Carved out of the living rock, the main room appears not unlike the interior to Chartes Cathedral. The walls, high and perilous, are filled with books, parchments, and rolled papyruses. Stair cases, made of wrought iron, act as a skeleton and roadway to get to the nearly unlimited volumes wherein the secrets of the world are held. Access around the Library can also be gained via the wide network of portals in the Library. Below the main room is a labyrinth of hallways and chambers holding many more works and artifacts. The entire place is run by the Librarian, who is nearly omniscient when it comes to what happens and exists within the Library. This is a snapshot of Chartes for inspiration.

Thorvald, Mr.
Age: 65
Race: Human
Skin Tone: Ruddy
Height: 6?0?
Build: Picture an American farmer in the dust bowl of Kansas in the 1930s. He has been beaten down by age and the elements. He has a gaunt face, a scraggly beard, sharp features, dirty fingernails, and a heavy brow.
Hair: Grey, thin and wispy.
Eyes: Grey
Special: He is Nordic, a Templar Knight, the keeper of the Chapel of Mist, and probably plays the role of grave digger for his fallen brothers from time-to-time. He might be holding a shovel or spade, and is never far from his dog, Loki. Thorvald is like a tough piece of leather, has a sour attitude at first blush, and probably knows a thing or two about what you did last summer (the stuff you didn?t tell your mom).
Pet (Loki): Thorvald and Loki are never seen apart from one another. Though Thorvald was once a stout fighter, due to age he now relies on Loki for his muscle, and few creatures ? temporal or eternal ? would stand much of a chance against this behemoth dog. Loki is likely either a black Great Dane or mastiff, but 25% larger than normal. He is intimidating by his very nature, and constantly looks angry. He is also a Grim: the guardian of old churchyards in the form of a black dog, it protected the dead from the Devil, demons and other nefarious supernatural creatures. The dog was often seen on stormy nights and was regarded as a portent of death.
Wardrobe (Mr. Thorvald): Perhaps plaids, overalls, worn jeans, long underwear and water-stained boots. However, he is a Templar Knight, so you can use your imagination.
Visual Reference (Mr. Thorvald): The crusty old man in the movie Home Alone who is shoveling the walk at night (Kevin?s brother had Kevin convinced the man was a murderer)
Visual Reference (Loki): see picture

Round and round they fly about a circle of toadstools (or mushrooms), prancing and pirouetting in a frenzied state. Yet so alluring is their dance, that stumbling upon the revelry can be entirely hypnotizing, drawing any passerby to join their celebration. And once both feet cross the path of toadstools, any human becomes a slave to the faeries for their life, caught in a musical web of madness, never to return. Only a rescuer who manages to fend of the faerie enchantment while keeping one foot outside the ring of mushrooms can snatch the captive, freeing them from their doom.

Wardrobe: Possibly a loincloth, but more often dressed in armor (more for show than actual need, as their hides are virtually impenetrable)
Visual Reference: Up to you
